Win Wanderlust Lovelies

One of my favorite Etsy shops and blogs is Oh, Hello Friend.  I have several pieces from Danni's Etsy shop, and now she has a new shop with curiousities, antiques, supplies and more.
Right now there is a $100 give away to the Wanderlust shop!
But, I really want some of these things...
So don't get your hopes up.

Whats Charlie Wearing Wednesday(s)

Buckle up...here comes three weeks worth of cuteness.

Pajama day...sometimes we here at the Fulton home are a bit...lazy.  And sometimes jammies are too hilarious not to document.  Resulting in the first ever (I think) pajama WCWW.  We have a box of hand me downs from my nephew Mitsuki, and some of these gems are direct from Japan.  Some of these Japanese items have non sensical Engrish English on them...like these bell bottoms.

The pants say (in cursive, no less)  "Nice to meet you.  Love, Kids Zoo".  Awesome.  And, as usual, the top is a simple white onesie from Carters.  Moving on...

Our friends Andrew and Sara were here last week from Santa Rosa to meet Charlie.  Charlie was immediately showered with gifts, and she got some awesome boots that were sent with them from our other friends, Alison, Jason, and little Cora.  Here's Charlie rocking her Hatley rain boots, which are covered in little birds and flowers (and totally match the coat that Sara and Andrew gave her.)
She's also wearing a Carter's top bought with a little pink and white polka dot romper at Costco for $5ish way back when.  And, the H&M jeans she's sporting are also from Alison and Jason, sent before either she or Cora were born.  We had an awesome time with Andrew and Sara (and their little boy on the way) and can't wait to see them and meet the Superbaby.  We're hoping we'll get to see Alison and Jason and finally meet Cora sometime this year too.

Lastly, yesterday Charlie played the part of a ballerina (until she pulled her bib off and covered her shirt in peach puree.)
She is wearing a white onesie ruffle tee from H&M ($3, I think), a Circo tutu with polka dots under the tulle ($6), and a interchangeable flower headband from an Etsy shop that no longer exists.

The stubborn girl no longer wants to sit and pose, hence the book and standing shots.  But, she's still stinking adorable, so I'll let it slide.

What's Charlie Wearing Wednesday

Summer is here! However short lived :)
Whale Romper - Carters, $5ish from Costco
Headband - won from Etsy shop Buds Buttons and Bows (The flowers snap on, so they're interchangable), but as far as I can tell the shop is no longer on Etsy.
Enjoy the blip of warm weather!

Birthday Brain "Storming"

I'm currently in love with the idea of a "Rainy Day" party for Charlie. Since her birthday is in late September, its likely that the weather will cooperate, so what's more fun than dressing in your best poncho and galloshes and heading to a rainy 1st birthday party?

Bonus that I'm pretty sure I could make most of this myself.

Raindrop Streamers

Umbrella Confetti

Vintage Rain Barrel (for punch of course)

I love the photo booth trend that's started. Pose under a vintage umbrella (ella, ella, ella) and a raincloud!

The favor bags would be filled with things to do on a rainy day.

It's ridiculous, I know...

...but I'm already brainstorming for Charlie's first birthday party. I have so many ideas floating around my head.

Rainbow Bright
I've liked this idea for awhile. I love "retro" toys that I played with growing up, so the idea of decorating with Rainbow Bright, her Unicorn and Sprites tugs at my heart strings. Add some rainbow streamers, bunting from Tim's birthday and these rainbow cupcakes and, zippety-pow*, you've got yourself a party. And for the favors? A Sprite for everyone (the critter, not the drink)!
Madeline
When we were first married we went through a Paris phase. As our style changed, most of our beautiful Parisian art didn't fit in anymore, so it's been banished to our mostly unused formal living room. But, what better way to put it to use again but to have a Madeline in Paris party? Besides the artwork, we could decorate with the books, croissants and baguettes (what's more French that that? Besides cigarettes.), streamers in Madeline's school uniform colors, and maybe some French street decor like this:
Teach the kids to say "Oui, oui" and you've got yourself a smash! Berets for everyone!

Circus
Just picture it: elephants, lions, tigers, bears, striped tents and mustaches for all! How can you go wrong? Dr. Seuss
Cupcakes topped with green "eggs", big striped felt hats, books everywhere, a game of pin the heart on the Grinch...Dr. Seuss opens itself up to all sorts of fun.
Alice and Wonderland
A mad tea party, eat me and drink me signs everywhere, awesome artwork, and adorable clothes? Yes please. Everyone can go home with a little toadstool, or rabbit, or caterpillar toy.

What do you like best? Other ideas?

*A spattering of zippety-pow - a Gilmore Girls reference, naturally.

What's Charlie Wearing Wednesday

Those of you who've known me awhile know my affinity for Barbie. I bought two Barbie tees at Old Navy soon after finding out Charlie was a girl. I waited impatiently for her to be big enough to rock them, and I'm happy to tell you, the day is here!
The breakdown:
BudsButtonsandBows headband - won through Etsy contest
Old Navy Graphic tee - $5
Carters longsleeved white onesie - gift
H&M jeans - gift
TJ Maxx Pink ballet slipper socks - set of 6 for $5.99
She's so excited about her shirt - obviously she'll be a Barbie fan too.

Made By Me Monday

When I saw this tutorial, I couldn't wait to make one. I pulled out my scrap fabrics and some fat quarters, and chose this brown polka dot pattern for my first attempt:
I love how it turned out. My fabric was slightly shorter than what was called for, so it made a smaller Charlie sized flower. With a few quick stitches I added it to an elastic head band that immediately dresses up Charlie's outfits.
She loves to wear it (I assume, since she doesn't yank it off) to church.

Isn't it adorable! Make your own in about an hour. I'll probably make a bunch more, but I have to wait till I'm in an ironing mood...which is almost never.
Again, I'm curious...would you purchase something like this from an Etsy shop? What would you expect to pay?

What's Charlie Wearing Wednesday...or Thursday as it were

Well, second week of doing WCWW, and I failed to post it. But, I had a very good reason. My 88 year old grandma took a fall last week, breaking her femur bone. While she was in the hospital, an infection was discovered, and my sweet, feisty grandma quickly deteriorated. She went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, as well as her husband and daughter early yesterday. So, the day was spent with my dad rather than in my photo studio, aka, rocking chair.

Tim, Grandma and me at my brothers wedding in Castaic Lake, CA
Grandma and my side of the family at my wedding in Renton WA
So, despite the sadness of the day, Charlie brought us lots of joy, and I did manage to take pictures of outfits #3 and #4 before bed. (Yes, it was a 4 outfit day, and neither of these were what I planned for her to wear for WCWW).

This outfit is a hodge podge of various pieces. The headband is one I won over a year before Charlie was even conceived. It's from BudsButtonsandBows on Etsy. She puts snaps on each headband and bud, button or bow, so you can make your own color/style combination. Genius! The top was a gift from a friend, and is Circo from Target. The pants are part of a Carters fleece set, and came with a skirted hoodie, that she got for Christmas. The socks are also Carters, and are clearly on their way off...also a gift, so this outfit cost me nothing.
This next outfit is a sweet snugly sleeper that I got at my first shower. You can see the confusion on Charlie's face as she notices her bear feet. Also, forgive the squints, this poor little girl has the dreaded pink eye.
That's that, hopefully next week I'll actually get this up on Wednesday.
